After a long period of waiting, testing, adding and cutting features, many release candidates, the WordPress 3.1 version, codename Reinhardt was officially released. The name comes from the jazz singer Django Reinhardt.

With the new release, wordpress developers promise that WordPress is now more of a CMS than ever before.

Among the features added I can point out: internal linking, improved admin navigation and edit post page redesign.

Here is the official announcement.

You can download the new version from the WordPress.org official website or to directly upgrade withing your administration panel.

There was a little problem with the name, the first choice for the name was “Django”, the first name of the same jazz singer, but some complaints appeared from Django project, which is a programming framework. More details about the incident here.
